Society Matters cic is pleased to announce the appointment of Karleen Dowden as a new non-executive director.

Society Matters cic is pleased to announce the appointment of Karleen Dowden as a new non-executive director. Karleen brings a wealth of experience from their time at the Money and Pensions Service and The Careers & Enterprise Company, and we are thrilled to have them join our team.

Karleen has a track record of leading successful teams and helping to deliver complex projects. As Regional Partnership Manager at the Money and Pensions Service, Karleen is responsible for the development and delivery of the organisation’s partnership and engagement strategy for the North East of England. Additionally, Karleen was a senior leader at The Careers & Enterprise Company, where she worked on the implementation of the National Careers Strategy to improve career outcomes for young people across England.

“I’m excited by the opportunity to join Society Matters cic and work with a team that is passionate about making a positive difference in society,” said Karleen. “Society Matters are making a real difference in promoting financial inclusion and wellbeing, and I look forward to contributing to the organisation’s continued success. I’m happy to be joining a professional team that is fun and motivated, and I believe my experience can help shape the direction for the cic.”

As we welcome Karleen Dowden to our team, we also reflect on the progress we have made in our efforts to promote financial inclusion and wellbeing through our work with the North of Tyne Combined Authority’s Child Poverty Prevention Programme.

As we move forward, we will continue this work to deliver innovative and impactful services that promote financial inclusion and wellbeing in our community. We are excited to have Karleen Dowden on board to help us achieve our goals and make a lasting impact on the lives of families in the North of Tyne region.
