Why sponsor training?
CVS organisations naturally want to push as much of their hard-earned income into service delivery to their clients, leaving very little to invest in much-needed learning and development. However as you’ll appreciate it’s critical, when they are supporting people through crisis, their knowledge of the social welfare system and welfare benefits is up to date and accurate, so they can give even better support to the people and communities that need their help, to hopefully enable them to recover from, or alleviate, the challenges and crises they are facing in their lives.
Your sponsorship is desperately needed. When we have promoted sponsored training to the community sector in the past, courses have literally been filled up within hours. So we know there’s an appetite for training but no money to pay for it. Through the Pay It Forward Scheme you can take that problem away.
Why we launched Pay It Forward
How does the scheme work?
We pride ourselves on fair and affordable pricing. As a social enterprise ourselves we are ‘not for profit’, and any surplus we do make goes to our parent charity to fund the delivery of social welfare advice to thousands of people in need every year. With your help we can make this critical training free to community and voluntary sector organisations who simply can’t afford to pay for it.
Every £500 donation we receive into the scheme will pay for training for at least 12 staff or volunteers who are working in your local community.
-
You select which social welfare training course you’d like to sponsor.
-
You choose which community you would like to support – we will connect with CVS organisations in the location of your choice, or if you would rather go further afield we will put out an open call for training sponsored by your organisation.
-
We ensure that any community organisation receiving details of the funded training knows it’s you that’s made that possible.
-
We will also celebrate your sponsorship on our website, in our Make Your Mark newsletter for professionals, and throughout social media.
How much should I donate?
Some examples of what we can achieve together are below:
-
£100
– Not all hero’s wear capes. You can give a little to make a large difference to individual learners. By working with our voluntary sector partners, for each £100 we receive we can identify and deliver two paid for places to our existing online open courses.
-
£500
– You want to make a change or pay back to the community that supports your organisation. By Paying It Forward you will support 12 learners through one of our half day online workshops, giving the community increased embedded knowledge of welfare systems.
-
£1000
– You understand the challenges people are facing and will support 12 learners through one of our full day online training events on subjects such as Housing and Homelessness or how to appropriately and successfully challenge Welfare Benefit Decisions.
-
£1500
– You understand people learn differently, and will support 12 learners through a full day of face to face training. We will provide lunch and cover public transport costs to ensure we reduce barriers.
-
£2500+
– You take your corporate social responsibility seriously and want to make a significant investment in your community. Our Business Development Manager will meet with you to understand your organisation’s mission and objectives and tailor a training offer to best reflect the strong values and commitment of your organisation.
